Who We Are

Feddema Strategies was founded by Laurel Feddema after more than 30 years both leading in for- and nonprofit organizations, as well as consulting to them.

She served at Second Harvest Heartland as Chief Community Engagement Officer, leading Marketing, Communications, Field Services, PR and Advocacy for this large, nationally recognized and innovative $21 million food bank.

In prior corporate experience, Laurel directed Community Relations Marketing for Marshall Field’s/Target, designing and marketing community relations activities—sponsorships and events, grants and outreach programs—in Field’s eight-state territory.

She has held other leadership positions—including at U.S. Bancorp as Senior Vice President of Sponsorship and Event Marketing and Vice President of Community Relations. She served as President of the U.S. Bancorp Foundation for three years.

Laurel also founded and ran Steppingstone Consulting for eight years, and across her consulting career has worked with a who’s who client list.  Her Twin Cities nonprofit boards service includes: MAP for Nonprofits (now Propel) (chair), Washburn Center for Children (vice chair), The Citizens League, Twin Cities LISC, University of Minnesota Cancer Center Advisory Board, and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Alumni Board.
